Lighting varies between mannequin shots. Focus comparison on eye and necklace detail.

Comparison of EOS-1Ds Mark II against EOS-1Ds on same day. Other images shot on two other days: EOS-1D Mark II, 35mm format, 6x7 format. The main objective was comparison of image detail. There are variations in exposure, color balance, and contrast introduced by the photographer. Image detail cut from negative scan or raw converted file at 300 dpi. Cropped section converted to 72 dpi 800 x 640 pixel image. Canon images shot with Canon 50mm f/1.4 lens at f/11 for digital cameras at ISO 200 and f/8 for Astia at ISO 100. Mamiya 7 used with 80mm f/4 lens at f/8 with Astia. Negatives scanned on Nikon 4000 ED and Nikon 8000 ED scanners with autoexposure function and post-scanning levels, contrast and brightness. All images subjected to varying levels of sharpening for maximal sharpening without gross distortion. The 6x7 negative format image was cropped because the lens was working at minimum focusing distance and was still not achieving full frame of head and chest. The test with the EOS-1D Mark II was run at a second time under approximately the same lighting conditions. The shirt had been washed 3-4 times and had lost some of its even texture and color. White balance was set with a grey card for the EOS-1D Mark II. The tests with the EOS-1Ds and 1Ds Mark II were run at a 3rd time with similar soft box and triflector, but no hairlight or background and background light. White balance is custom set off grey card.

Digital images shot RAW. Converted to tifs with CaptureOne Pro 3.6 (1Ds and 1Ds Mk II) or 3.5 (1D Mark II).
