The lenses were tested with a mannequin and a background containing printed letters, minilights, and sequins (source of specular light) and shelf framing to test the ability of lenses to blur background and produce bokeh. The following lenses with focal length settings and apertures were tested:

1. EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM at 55mm f/2.8
2. EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM at 50mm f/2.8 and 70mm f/2.8
3. EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM at 50mm f/4, 70mm f/4 and 105mm f/4
