Object: M31 (Andromeda Galaxy)
Equipment: Takahashi E-130D astrograph f/3.3 on an Astro-Physics 1100GTO mount; SBIG STL-11000M, Astrodon filters.
Exposure/Processing: 16.5 hours LRGB 1x1 binning up to 300 second exposures.
Collected/Processed with Maxim DL 5, PixInsight and Photoshop.
Location/Date: 2017 Chiefland Astrofest, October 15-19, 2012, Chiefland, FL
Comment: I'm going back to basics with this image I made from 3 nights of imaging at the 2017 Chiefland Astrofest. Andromeda galaxy (M31) is shown with companion galaxies M110 and M32. The large blue star at the top of the image is 35-Nu-Andromedae, a B5V SB blue main sequence dwarf star 679 light years from Earth. M31 is 2.5M light years from Earth and 131K light years in diameter.
